HimShoe - Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is the intrinsic value?

The intrinsic value of a stock is defined as the present value of all the cash flows the investor will receive (on a per-share basis) from it. Therefore, if the intrinsic value exceeds the market value, the stock is considered to be undervalued. However, there is no single metric for investment decisions; multiple factors, such as growth potential and financial health of the company, must be taken into account.

  2. Is the provided data free?

Yes, it is completely free for personal use without requiring membership registration. However, bulk requests and data collection via automated means are prohibited. Commercial use or unauthorized redistribution of the data is not allowed.

  3. How are intrinsic values calculated?

Intrinsic values are calculated using models like Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and Dividend Discount Model (DDM), based on publicly available financial data (Trailing Twelve Months, TTM). The β value for each individual U.S. company is uniformly assumed to be 1, the market average. The growth rate of each individual company is uniformly assumed to be zero.

  4. Is this investment advice?

No, the information provided by HimShoe is for informational purposes only and should not be considered investment advice. Always consult with a financial professional.

  5. Which markets are supported?

Currently, HimShoe supports US Listed Stocks and Korean Listed Stocks.

  6. How often is the data updated?

The data is updated within two to three business days, typically after new financial reports are released by companies.

  7. Where do you get your data from?

We calculate intrinsic values using only publicly available financial data from public institutions (e.g., SEC EDGAR, OPENDART) and intrinsic value formulas found in financial textbooks. For this reason, information related to U.S. stock prices (e.g., beta values of individual stocks) is not utilized.

  8. Why is there no data for some stocks?

We do not provide data for foreign companies, REITs and infrastructure funds, or companies with errors in financial data provided by public institution APIs. Also, omissions due to our mistakes are possible, so please contact us via the email listed on the homepage, and we will review and correct it.
